The Renegades Bantam A team opened up the
2010 Littleton's President's Day Tournament on
Friday with a game against the Arapahoe Maize team and came out on the
short end of a 4-3 game. Saturday morning the team opened up with a 3-0
win over Littleton Black and followed that up Saturday night with a hard
fought 4-1 victory over Steamboat. Sunday morning the boys opened up
with a 10-2 win over DU and followed that up Sunday afternoon with a
tough game against Arapahoe Navy and 3-2 victory. This secured the
number 1 seed for the playoffs. The first playoff game on Monday had the
boys matched up with the Arapahoe Maize and the boys came out hard and
won 5-2. In the championship game with Littleton Black, the outcome came
down to a goal scored late in the third period and the Renegades came up
on the wrong end of a 2-1 game finishing second in the tournament.
Overall they played 7 games winning 5 and taking home the runner-up
banner.
The Renegades Peewee A team took home the championship
of the 2010 Littleton President's Day Tournament. The Renegades won the
championship game 5-2 over Littleton Peewee Black. Earlier that day they
beat the Littleton Peewee Red 6-1. The Peewee team also notched wins
over Front Range, Arapahoe, Hyland Hills and CHC. A great experience for
the team, their coaches and families! A big congratulations for all the
hard work leading up to the tournament. For a larger championship photo,

Congratulations to the Bantam
Team for WINNING the BANTAM Renegades Invitational!!!!
Renegades Bantam team went 5-0 during the Bantam Renegades Invitational.
We had some intense competition with teams from Arapahoe, Boulder
Valley, NCYH, and Gunnison. Every team played extremely well showcasing
the talents from their associations and world class youth hockey in
Colorado.
Additionally, we had several players win the individual skills
competition, however it was the entire team that played extremely well
and went undefeated through the tournament.
A special and HUGE thanks to Don Ayers, who was at the rink the entire
weekend and just went over and beyond in providing a top notch
tournament!

I wanted to post some information about
a member of the Renegades Family. The information below came from The
Colorado Thunderbirds website. It is reposted here as it is connected to
both of our organizations.
Last
Wednesday, January 20, tragedy struck a member of the Renegades/Colorado
Thunderbird family. Sam Sedillo, the older brother of Kyle Robison #15,
a defenseman on the Thunderbirds U16 team and longtime Renegades player,
was seriously injured while serving our country in Afghanistan. Sam is
a member of the US Marine Corp assigned as a Combat Engineer. His
responsibility is to locate and disarm IEDs (Individual Explosive
Device) which are basically homemade bombs that are widely deployed to
injure coalition forces. During a mission last Wednesday, Sam and his
team encountered several IEDs in a location, one of which detonated.
Sam's injuries are severe and resulted in the loss of his foot but
thankfully he will survive his injuries. Sam was evacuated to Germany
for stabilization and is currently en route to Bethesda, MD where he
will undergo 6-8 months of rehabilitation for his injuries. Sam grew up
in the Fort Collins area and pursued his love for hockey playing for the
Mountain States Renegades organization. He later moved to the Arvada
area and played both hockey and football at Pomona High School. Being a
Marine was a lifelong dream for Sam and he understood and accepted the
risks of going to war to serve his country. Sam told his family in the
last few days that "I understand why I was there and the importance of
what I was fighting for in Afghanistan." Sam loves hockey and is Kyle's
#1 fan. Sam, we are grateful for your service and the Colorado
Thunderbirds and Mountain States Renegades are your #1 fans. We
wish you a speedy recovery and hope that you are back watching Kyle play
very soon. If you would like to send Sam a personal message you may
email him at: kenrobisonfrf@gmail.com.

One thing that has been part of an
ongoing spirit of Renegades Hockey is the heritage of
the game that our Hockey Director, Tim Knox has brought to our players
and families. Tim has always enjoyed the extra ice time with the teams
over the years. These have often been referred to as Renegades
Pond Hockey. This is usually hockey played at the rink for fun
in the spirit of pond hockey. Over the years, the Renegades have also
had times where they have held practice outdoors on the pond. A feature film
has been made about pond hockey. When you have the time, watch the movie
below. You will be tempted to find some outdoor ice and lace up the
skates.

you own or work for has recruiting needs, Sean O'Leary
is equipped to find the people you need. If you refer Sean to a
recruiting business opportunity, he will rebate a percentage of his
company’s recruiting fee back to MSYH, please contact Sean
O’Leary at

Sean provides
contingency and retained services in recruitment. He’s got a lot of
strength and experience recruiting for technology companies, but can
find any skill set your company needs. This could be a big fund raiser
for MSYH, so all referrals are very welcome!
