Mountain States Youth Hockey - About the Renegades |
|
Team Work Learning the game of hockey is sometimes harder for the parents than it is for the players. Our organization is not only committed to teaching our players how to play the game, but also provide the parents with an understanding for the game. Our players and parents learn how important the value of team work can be. Our players learn this on the ice by supporting their line mates and our parents learn this by helping support the players, coaches and our sponsors. We all play a part in the success of the kids. The foundation of Mountain States Youth Hockey is team work.
Learning The Game Our goal is to teach the game of hockey to the players so that they able to learn, understand and play the game. Mountain States Youth Hockey provides the opportunity for players to learn a system that creates continuity from one season to the next, one coach to the next. Our players are coached to create the action on the ice. Renegade hockey is about aggressive and unselfish team work. Our practices create the best possible experience for the youth hockey player to increase their skill level while learning the game and being part of a winning tradition.
Having Fun Of course none of this would work in youth hockey unless the players are having fun. It is our experience that for the kids to continue improving their skill level it is essential that they are having fun. The drills that we run throughout our practices are designed with two things in mind, skill improvement and having fun.
Coaching From our Director of Hockey, Tim Knox and our Assistant Hockey Director, Roger Gill to our individual team coaches, we are dedicated to providing the players with the absolute best experience from a coaching standpoint. Our coaches bring years of hockey experience and a commitment to improving hockey skills while providing a fun and memorable experience for all of our players.
Community Our families have become accustomed to helping each other out when in need. It could range from picking a few players up from practice or helping build a float for the CSU homecoming parade. Youth hockey can be an expensive sport and Mountain States Youth Hockey is committed to providing an opportunity to as many players as we can. In order to do this, we have fundraisers, sponsorships and scholarship donors to help defray some of the costs associated with the sport. The photos below are from our annual Christmas Tree Roundup and the Homecoming Parade. The Mountain States Renegades are currently helping the new owners of the Warnoco Roller Skating Rink in Greeley, Colorado, to convert the facility into a fully functional Ice Hockey Rink. We plan to bring the same sense of community to Greeley as we have in Fort Collins. It's no accident why we are called the Mountain States Renegades, since we represent the region. We have players from the communities in Northern Colorado as well as Wyoming for our Fall and Winter program.
