November 14, 2008 Tim has set up a game for the Mites to play this Sunday at 1:45 pm at the Greeley Ice Haus. It will be a cross ice/half ice format. He is working on others with Cheyenne as well. October 22, 2008 Chili Cook-off Time! Mountain States Youth Hockey and Mountain States Ice Arena will be hosting its 4th Annual Chili Cook-off. We also have a Pie Contest as part of the event. This is a fundraiser for the Renegades and a great time at the rink. Look for more details at the rink.
October 16, 2008 There will Renegades Pond Hockey at Mountain States Ice Arena on Friday, October 17 from 1 to 3 pm. Cost is $7/player.

Currently we are involved in league scheduling and putting together official rosters. It is a very busy time of year for all of the behind the scenes work. Be sure to thank all those who volunteer.

August 18, 2008 Emails have been sent to families for the Team Placement/Tryout Results. These have been sent out to the Peewees for AA and A, the Bantams for AA and A and the Midget Minors for AA and A. If you are at one of these levels and have not received an email, please email info@mountainstateshockey.com. We are working on our Squirt teams and Midget Major team. Those announcements will be made in the next few days. We are trying to fill the Midget Major team and fill a second Squirt team. Our Mite numbers are very good after the first two sessions. If you have questions regarding team placement, please call our Hockey Director, Tim Knox at (970) 217-7950 or email timpuck@aim.com.

BYOB/Meat/Side dish grill for the tryouts B) Everyone brings
their own stuff if they want to participate C) We would put a
"can" on the grill for propane reimbursement etc. Nothing fancy, but
it beats eating out. Hopefully the
weather will hold?

August 13, 2008 So far at tryouts our numbers have been good. If you have not been able to make tryouts yet, it's not too late. We have the following opportunities available for additional players:
Midget Major - Skaters Midget Minor - 2 Goalies and Skaters Bantam - 1 Goalie and Skaters Peewee - Skaters Squirts - 1 Goalie and Skaters Mites - Skaters and Goalies (does not start until Friday)
August 12, 2008 Thanks to all who participated in the first day of tryouts! We had a great turnout. We are adding another Squirt team, so for anyone interested in playing Squirt hockey for the Renegades this season, you are invited to come and participate. Please pass that information on. We also have some open spots at each of our age levels. The Midget Major team needs to add some players. Our organization provides a place for players of all skill levels. We will field AA, A and B level teams this season. We will continue developing players to their highest skill potential. We continue to offer the best hockey instruction in Northern Colorado.
Take advantage of the great program we are offering at the mite level. We are excited to provide the same high quality instruction that our older players have received. Become part of the winning tradition.

August 6, 2008 Just got word from Tim on this change to the Pre-tryout camp.
The Pre-tryout camp will not start Wednesday as planned. Our Zamboni won’t be at
the rink until later Wednesday night. We won’t be able to get the ice shaved
until then. An ice session will be added Sunday. The camp will now start on
Thursday. The schedule will be correct other than tonight and what we adjust for
Sunday by adding additional ice. Thanks in advance for understanding! Also our

July 23, 2008 Mountain States Ice Arena is having their annual "Work Day" at the rink on Saturday, July 26 beginning at 10 am. For detailed information go to the "news" page at www.mountainstatesice.com. It's always makes for a fun day. The sand (that goes below the ice) has been leveled and the ice will be going in, so we are asking that no one goes on the playing surface.
July 17, 2008 Listed above in "Tryout Information" area are downloadable files (pdf format) regarding Tryouts, our Mite Program and the Pre-Tryout Clinic. We are excited about the coming season. Having won four state titles in the last two years, we look forward to more success this coming season. We are requiring that all players have their 2008-9 USA Hockey Registration completed prior to tryouts. This can be done by going to www.usahockeyregistration.com. Colorado residents, Squirts through Midgets pay $47 this season ($30 for USA Hockey and $17 to CAHA). Mite players (2000 birth year and younger) pay $30 this season (no CAHA fee is required). For players with birth years 2002 and younger, there is no USA Hockey fee or CAHA fee (USA Hockey online registration is still required). This is an easy procedure that can be done online. Once completed, please email the confirmation to brianmckinley@mountainstateshockey.com prior to tryouts.

July 8, 2008 Congratulations to the 1997/1998 Renegades Selects on winning the Schwann's USA International Hockey Cup Open tournament Championship this weekend (7/3/08 - 7/6/08) in Blaine, Minnesota. The Tournament Champion 97/98 Renegades went 6-0 on their way to the title. The 95 team, the 94 team and the 91/92 team all played well and finished 2nd or 3rd. Congrats to the teams for their hard work!
June 28, 2008 Congratulations to the 1994 Renegades Select team. They won the Schwann's USA International Hockey Cup Invitational tournament this weekend in Blaine, Minnesota. The Tournament Champion 1994 Renegades went 5-0 on their way to the title!
June 22, 2008 Many of our Renegades players and some other players from the state have taken part in Tim Knox's Renegades Select Camp this June in Des Moines. Here is a gallery of photos from June 7-9. The camp runs the month of June and finishes up July 3-6 in Blaine, MN at the USA INTERNATIONAL HOCKEY CUP with several teams competing. The camp is being held at the Metro Ice Sports Facility in Urbandale, Iowa, a Des Moines area suburb. The rink is a beautiful 2 sheet facility with a very nice location. One sheet is removed in the summer and many off-ice drills take place there. Be sure to view the gallery.
